Back to Lumberjack

Today I was inspired by bloggers wearing flannels or button ups under sweaters with the sleeves rolled over, and I wanted to wear it. It looks a little business-y for school, but that's kind of how I roll.
Flannel - Forever21
Sweater - Walmart
Vest - Aeropostale/DIY
Skirt - TJMaxx
Sweater Tights - Nordstrom Rack
Shoes - Naturalizer via TJMaxx
Belt - Vintage
Bracelet - Target
I don't know why, but my pictures look blurry, grainy, dark, and just not great today. Look at this post, then look at the last one. Now look at your man, then back to me.. I take all my pictures with the same camera, but some of them are worlds apart. My camera has good days and bad days, sadly. You know what they say, you get what you pay for!

When I bought these shoes, I had no idea that paying around $15-$20 for Naturalizers was a good deal, and I almost passed them up. But now, I'm high-fiving myself for buying them. Fun-fact: They were my first pair of heels, and I looked like a baby giraffe trying to walk in them at first. Oh, the memories.

So This is What It Feels Like to Live Life

Hello friends! Something very exciting happened to me the other day. I joined IFB, and I gained my first two followers that aren't my best friend. If you're keeping track, that's a total of four followers. I know blogging isn't about the amount of followers one has, and four isn't very much, but it's always nice to think that someone wants to see what I'm putting out without being obligated to.
I'm so excited! IFB has introduced me to so many friendly and supportive bloggers, and I'm looking forward to talking to people who love what I love and do what I am doing. I am so blessed to have had an opportunity to share my life and my closet with other people.
Hike em up!
Top - Mom's

J Crew model? I think so.

Picture cred: ^This kid. Thank you so much, S!

S is a natural model. Just look at those poses...he belongs in catalogs. Or maybe just on my blog.

~Lady Gaga

"I don't really view it [no makeup] as 'natural', I think that artifice is the new reality. It's more about just being honest and sincere to the core of what you do."

Never Will I Ever...

...Take pictures at night again. The light is horrible. Who knew?

...Or drive at night again. It's really scary!
Dress - Target
Sweater - Forever21
Tights - Forever21
Scarf - Fred Meyer
Booties - TJMaxx
Bag - Bueno via TJMaxx
I'm not really on good terms with nighttime right now. Along with the driving thing and the picture-taking thing, I just watched Scream (the one with Drew Barrymore) for the first time the other day. It's not a great thing to have to think about when you're home alone.

Anyways.
I really love this outfit, because it's basically different shades of red and tan. I have to congratulate myself when I manage not to put on anything blue. My pet peeve is wearing blue on blue, as in blue jeans and a blue top. I don't know why, but it makes me nuts. Maybe because it reminds me of my other pet peeve...denim on denim. Shudder!

In Too Deep

This is what I wore to school yesterday!
School appropriate? You'd be surprised...

Top - Fred Meyer
Skirt - TJMaxx
Jacket - Thrifted
Booties - TJMaxx
Ring - Target
I wore this jacket two days in a row. My school has a block shedule, so I feel like it doesn't matter. But my blog doesn't...so you're going to have to get used to repeats.
I really don't think it's a big deal. People wear the same clothes over and over all the time, right? Yeah...those people. But if you're taking pictures of yourself everyday that people look at (I hope!), it's not very interesting. Oh well!

S

Ohhey.
Check it out, I cut my hair off!

Dress - Kohls
Jacket - Thrifted
Boots - Steve Madden

It wasn't supposed to be that short. I knew my love for DIY would one day fail me.
I have been cutting my hair myself for years...it's cheap and I'm always in control. But this time, I messed it up so badly that I ended up chopping it all off.

If you were wondering why these pictures look so wonderful...it's because this great kid I call my boyfriend took them. And then he gave me a flower. Whadda guy! :)

He just realized that it's actually a weed..

So what do you think? Should I be regretting my haircut yet?

Motivation

I used to say that when I got my first paycheck from my first job, I was going to blow it on designer jeans. But then I met these.

It's good to have motivation, right?
Obviously there are other pluses to having a job. Like having job experience to put on a resume, having something to do in your spare time, having responsibilities...
But everyone's real reason is $$. I mean, my college tutition has to come from somewhere! And those boots...I'm drooling.

So the job hunt begins.
For real this time.

Tutorial(s) of the Month - October

Hello friends! Since Halloween (aka, my favorite holiday ever) is this month, I decided to just throw out a handful of Halloween related tutorials and not comment on any of them. This might have to do with the fact that I'm lazy. But for real, there's no way I could have just picked one when there are so many different things you can do for Halloween.

I hope these are helpful! I thought they were rather great.

So guess what I'm gonna dress up as for Halloween?

Sandy from Grease!
I've been trying to pull this off for years. I'm a little excited! I really really hope it works out this time.

The Olivia Headband

This is what I wore on Friday. Pictures = Still crooked. I apologize.

Sweater - Forever21
Skirt - TJMaxx
Scarf - Fred Meyer
Shoes - Consignment
Headband - Fred Meyer

Let me tell you about these shoes.
I saw my friend Inna wearing snakeskin flats. I looked for some for months, I found similar ones at a consignment shop, and I got them. They're hard to find.

Let me tell you about this headband.
I saw my friend Olivia wearing a leopard print headband. I copied her and got one two days later. It just jumped out at me at Fred Meyer, I swear. It gave me an offer I couldn't refuse (okay, it came with a plain black one).

I really don't like it when people copy me. I feel like it's not flattery at all. It's just not right that I can't get credit for my own creativity. (Haha...) But I thought I would expose you to some straight hypocrisy up in here...I'm guilty of coppery.
I'll wear a big red "C" if you want me to.
